G.A. Henty’s books are at the top of my list for must read historical fiction, but with over 90 of them it’s a daunting task to know where to start and how to align them with what you are studying. I wanted to read through all of them with my children as we follow the classical model of studying history, so I wanted to know what books align with what year in history. Which one are you starting with? We are studying 800-1400 this year – so we could read along with you!
We will be starting with The Dragon and the Raven, but we are finishing Stories of Beowulf Told to Children and reading Rolf and the Vikings Bow first. If somehow we could match up our schedules it would be fun to read through them together!
